Outlaws Go National!

We are excited to announce the Orlando Outlaws are now apart of the North America Football League. Ours is an organization committed to the growth and development of its players, as well as the community we serve. This commitment is the reason we have players showcasing their talent in the college and professional ranks today. The N.A.F.L shares our goals and is committed to developing not only players but individual teams as well. “This is an opportunity that just could not be passed up” Said President Luke Desforge. “The vision and philosophy behind the NAFL’s existence is in complete alignment with our goals and we are looking forward to a long run and hopefully many championships along the way.” With the upcoming season approaching fast, the Outlaws will be holding additional tryouts to augment the current roster. The place will be announced shortly, but look for these to commence in March.

The NAFL’s season runs from July through September with playoffs in October. Looking ahead, the Outlaws expect to gain national exposure from joining this league. With several players making collegiate and pro rosters from last year’s team, one can expect to see those numbers rise within the new league. The NAFL conducts annual combines where the players are given the opportunity to sign with NFL and Arena teams. By participating in the NAFL, players are also provided with an opportunity to gain valuable experience as they continue their pursuit of advancing to the professional or collegiate level.

The 2009 NAFL Championship Weekend will be the best event in NAFL history. The site has yet to be determined, but the top candidates for the host city include: Miami, Orlando, and New Orleans. Notable host cities in the past have been Orlando, Florida (2003-06, Disney Sports Complex) and Las Vegas, NV (2007). In fact, the NAFL landed a signed contract with ESPN for the 2005 Championship Weekend.

“We hope to have the NAFL’s championship weekend back here in Florida,” said Vice President Dan Plouff, “With a little more fine tuning, hopefully we will be playing in it.” The NAFL is an official partner of the NFL Alumni Caring for Kids. The league teams, players, coaches, cheerleaders and staff dedicate their time to giving back to local communities. Local communities benefit from fundraisers, donations, and youth clinics for children at risk.
